Before Bentley was the go-to auto for competitive collectors desiring the most expensive and most iconic autos, the marque made its name for racing victories.
For some, things haven’t changed. The 1932 4.5-liter supercharged “Blower” just auctioned for a record £4.5 million (roughly $7 million) at Bonhams’ Goodwood auction. Bentley’s last record was the Speed Six “Old No. 2” that sold at £2.8 million at the Le Mans Classic in 2004.
