Linda Pilkington is the owner and creator of Ormonde Jayne—an independent British perfume house. Ormonde Jayne specializes and is renowned for using exotic hard-to-find ingredients not widely used in the perfume industry today like Black Hemlock, Tiare, Champace and Tolu. Over a ten-year period the company has gone from strength to strength, developing and perfecting their offer. All the products are hand made in the London studio and delivered to the two London stores in Old Bond Street and Sloane Square. Ormonde Jayne also staffs a concession in Harrods and an online shopping service at www.ormondejayne.com The business is self-funding and does not have any outside investors. Jayne has been able to grow the company slowly and never had to compromise on quality and productivity for the sake of a financial return. One aspect of Ormonde Jayne is the new and innovative “Perfume Portrait”. Clients are invited to smell raw ingredients, rather like the experience of having a bespoke perfume created; only the idea is to lead the client to the perfect Ormonde Jayne scent.
