Lewis Black Brings Political Theater To Broadway This Fall

News | July 26, 2012

Lewis Black is heading back to Broadway with “Running on Empty,” a politically charged act that will run at the Richard Rodgers Theater October 9-14. The curmudgeonly comedian, Daily Show staple and incongruous Aruba tourism spokesman will go on multiple rants about the Tea Party, Democrats and every political splinter group in between. He last appeared on the Great White Way eight years ago in “Black on Broadway,” what later ran on HBO.

Black has already dipped into this election cycle, voicing Mitt Romney’s neglected dog Seamus (who was famously strapped to the top of the family station wagon during a vacation trip) in “Dog on the Roof: On the Road With Mitt Romney and Mutt.” Tickets go on sale August 6.
