Haute Event: Surf the Musical Opens at Planet Hollywood Resort

“Surf the Musical,” the feel-good production featuring the songs of the Beach Boys, is now open at the Showroom at Planet Hollywood Resort.

Last night the production celebrated its world premiere with a star-studded red carpet and party.  The production, directed by Kristin Hanggi, the producer behind “Rock of Ages,” coming to the Palazzo this fall, plays eight shows per week in Las Vegas.

The sold-out opening night featured celebrity guests and Vegas headliners such as: American Idol alum Taylor Hicks, Carrot Top, Frankie Moreno, singer Debbie Gibson, Nathan Burton, Chippendales, the cast from Tony & Tina’s Wedding, Mo5aic, comedy hypnotist Marc Savard, BMX and reality star Ricardo Laguna, singer Josh Strickland from “Peepshow,” Michael Godard, Thunder from Down Under and Marissa Jaret Winokur from “Dancing with the Stars” and “Hairspray” on Broadway.
