Haute 100 NY Update: Anna Wintour Praises Dior’s Raf Simons Despite Being “In Cahoots” With John Galliano
Vogue editor Anna Wintour was thrilled with Raf Simons’ debut couture collection for Dior in Paris this week, despite a headline-making meeting with the label’s deposed designer John Galliano (pictured above) that had fashion conspiracy theorists squawking about Wintour’s true loyalties. “He’s a rock star in his own right,” Wintour said of Simons. “He brought a lightness and simplicity to it that I thought was incredibly refreshing. Nice clothes are fine, but you can find nice clothes everywhere. What Raf brings is a point of view.”
