Born in St. Croix as Ian Grocher and raised in Miami, Florida, it was his time spent at boarding school in Jamaica where DJ Irie discovered his true love in life-music. He has since captivated the industry by dominating venues and parties with his never-ending energy and heart pumping mixes. He is the official DJ for Haute Living and the Miami Heat, and earned the title of “Best DJ” from the Miami Herald. But Irie’s success has expanded far from his home base as he has been recognized on a national level with a BET Award nomination, performed on MTV’s Total Request Live, and the Nickelodeon Teen Choice Awards among others. He is also a philanthropic entrepreneur, making his unsurpassed talent available to numerous nonprofit organizations for charity events.
