Benetti Launches Newest Vessel 'Checkmate' Into Mediterranean
Benetti’s newest model, the Vision 145′ BV018 ‘Checkmate’, was just launched from the historic Darsena Italia Basin. Checkmate is only the 15th superyacht to be built for the top-tier Vision line.
After the traditional champagne bottle was broken across her bows, the yacht dipped smoothly into the Mediterranean via a custom-built ramp to the backdrop of Giuseppe Verdi’s “Và Pensiero.” Checkmate’s owner, a well-known surgeon from Washington D.C., and his family were present for the ceremony.
