News | July 30, 2012

Andre Berto, an accomplished amateur boxer, took the sport by storm in 2008 when he won his first world championship title, beating out Miguel Angel Rodriguez to claim the WBC Welterweight belt, vacated by Floyd Mayweather, Jr. Back in 2004, he represented his family’s native country of Haiti in the 2004 Olympic Games. In more recent years, Berto has continued to dominate the world of boxing, while also maintaining a presence in the community. He serves on the board of the Carma Foundation, an organization founded by Wyclef Jean’s sister to help improve the health of poor and vulnerable women and children in Haiti.
