Russian President Vladimir Putin owns an incredible collection of valuable watches, totally nearly $700,000, which, according to reports, is nearly six times his official annual salary. The centerpiece in his collection appears to be a A Lange & Sohne Tourbograph worth $500,000.

Despite questions about how Putin could afford to own a watch collection worth six times as much as his official reported annual salary, the Russian President certain has an eye for unique and luxurious timepieces. Putin’s collection reportedly includes a $60,000 Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar, an $18,000 Patek Philippe Calatrava, a $15,000 Brequet Marine, a $10,000 Blancpain Leman Flyback, a $10,500 Blancpain Leman Aqua Lung Grande Date and, of course, the crown jewel, a $500,000 A Lange & Sohne with platinum casing, gold plated arms, hand-stitched crocodile leather on the strap and sapphire-crystal glass.

According to records, Putin’s salary is around $115,000, but along with his own personal collection, the Russian President is known to give watches away as gifts as well.

Former prime minister and Solidarity leader Boris Nemtsob sarcastically commented on the situation and said, “Putin, it seems, did not eat or drink for six years to acquire this collection.”
