Morgans Hotel Group to open Delano Marrakech

News | June 19, 2012

New York-based Morgans Hotel Group announced today that it will open the Delano Marrakech—based off the famed South Beach luxury property. The hotel group has partnered with Moroccan entrepreneur Ahmed Bennani and Hivernage Collection to provide world-travelers with sophisticated tastes access to the urban resort as early as September 2012.

Designed by Jacques Garcia, the hotel’s unconventional baroque interior will bring together precious marbles, sumptuous draped velvet, and rare fabrics to create a relaxing and intimate atmosphere that pleases Delano’s discerning guests. There will be 73-suites, a 20,000-sq. ft. spa and three private pools, all located in the hear of the Hivernage District.

“This collaboration signifies Morgans Hotel Group’s entry into North Africa and we are thrilled to be one of the first U.S. based hotel companies to extend our brand portfolio to the dynamic city of Marrakech, ” sayd Morgans CEO Michael Gross.

Following in the pattern of the South Beach properties, the company already plans on opening a Mondrian Marrakech in early 2013.
