McLaren Plans Powerful Updates For Popular MP4-12C in 2013
Although McLaren’s mid-engine MP4-12C just went on sale this past year, updates are heading its way for the 2013 version.
The most significant update is an added 25 horsepower for the MP4-12C’s twin-turbocharged, 3.8-liter V-8 that comes from an engine-computer update, bringing the total horsepower to 618.
The car’s transmission programming will also be modified with added software so drivers can change the level of engine noise entering the cabin. With the new model, the driver will be able to adjust the valve independently of the driving mode, even to the maximum loudness.
