Manhattan Hot Spots Create Mad Men-Inspired Cocktails To Celebrate Finale

The season finale of Mad Men airs June 10, and in its honor, some of Manhattan’s favorite hotspots have created cocktails inspired by distinct personalities on the show.

Check out the recipes below and raise your glass

Hot Spot: Stone Rose Lounge

Cocktail: Midnight Manhattan

A smooth and mysterious cocktail inspired by the smooth and mysterious Don Draper.

1 ½ oz. Woodford Reserve

1 oz. Grand Marnier

½ oz. White Cranberry Juice

Splash of Fresh Lime Juice

Splash of Simple Syrup

Served Up or on the Rocks, garnish with a stem less cherry


Hot Spot: Whiskey Park

Cocktail: Coconut Basil Gimlet

Inspired by the model-turned-suburban-wife Betty Francis.

1 oz. Ciroc Coconut

1 ¼ oz. Fresh Sour Mix

¼ oz. Fresh Lime Juice

¼ oz. Simple Syrup

1 large basil leaf

Add Ice, cover and shake well, strain into an ice filled Rocks Glass


Hot Spot: Koi Bryant Park

Cocktal: Cara Cara Cosmo

An exotic infusion inspired by Asian art collector Bert Cooper.

1 ½ oz. Citrus Vodka

1 oz. Fresh Squeezed Cara Cara Orange Juice

½ oz. Lime Juice

½ oz. Simple Syrup

Finish with splash of cranberry, shaken and strained into a martini glass


Hot Spot: Whiskey Blue

Cocktail: Strawberry Smash

A sultry strawberry smash inspired by the seductive Joan Harris.

3 Medium Strawberries

4 Lemon Quarters

¼ oz. Simple Syrup

1 ½ oz. Hennessy VSOP

Muddle in a rocks glass, add ice, shake vigorously, top with ginger ale and garnish with a strawberry


Hot Spot: Living Room

Cocktail: The Natural

A Roger Sterling-like cocktail that is perfect to drink while sizing up prospect ladies.

2 oz. Ketel One

3 oz. Red Bull

Served in a Highball Glass with a can


Hot Spot: Havana Central

Cocktail: Cuban Cosmo

For the modern Megan Draper looking to find a blissful escape from the stressful acting world.

1 ½ oz. Bacardi Limon

½ oz. Triple Sec

½ oz. Roses Lime Juice

2 oz. Cranberry Juice

Mix preferred liquors in mixing glass. Using a strainer, pour chilled product into a Martini glass, garnish with lemon twist


Hot Spot: Lilium

Cocktail: Black Lily

A dark and sexy cocktail for the Peggy Olson type.

1 oz. Brooklyn Vodka

3 Muddled Blackberries

¼ oz. Simple Syrup

Small Splash Fresh Lime Juice

Top of Gloria Ferrer Champagne

Build in a large shaker, muddle the blackberries, shake and strain into a champagne flute.

Garnish with a single blackberry on a prism toothpick lying across the glass

DISARONNO original recipe.

Cocktail: The Modern God Son

A sophisticated drink inspired by Pete Campbell.

1 ½ oz. Dewars 12yr
½ oz.  DISARONNO
¼ oz. Martini & Rossi Sweet Vermouth
1 Bar Spoon of  Spiced Simple*

2 Dashes of Angostura Bitters

Stir contents, strain into a chilled rocks glass over large ice cubes. Garnish with both a lemon and an orange peel

*Spiced Simple Syrup Recipe

Simmer 4 broken Cinnamon sticks along with 10 cloves in 2 cups of water (16oz). Let simmer and stir every once in a while for at least 15min. Remove from heat, then add 2 cups of sugar, strain
