Joe Montana to Build Hotel Accross from 49ers Stadium
Hall of Fame quarterback, Joe Montana, has been granted permission from the Santa Clara City Council to begin exclusive negotiations to build a four- or five-star hotel across from the San Francisco 49ers’ stadium. Montana made his first appearance in the NFL in 1979 with San Francisco and continued to play on the team for 14 seasons. During Montana’s time as a 49er, the team made it to the Super Bowl four times and won all of them. Although Montana just recently received approval from The City Council, Niners fans have supported Montana since he revealed his concept to the public last year.
Over the next year, Montana and his associates will work with city leaders to determine how much money they will contribute for the right to build on the eight acres of city-owned property will cost to build on. Montana has assured city officials that he has the capital to build a luxury hotel complete with a sports bar and upscale restaurant. The hotel is targeted to open alongside the new Niners stadium before the 2014 NFL season.
