Haute Event: Clive Owen and Nacho Figueras Co-Host Fifth Annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic

Movie stars, fashion darlings and top equestrians descended on New Jersey’s Liberty State Park last Saturday for the fifth annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic co-hosted by Clive Owen, Nacho Figueras, Delfina Blaquier and Veuve Clicquot President Vanessa Kay.

Stylist Rachel Zoe, who arrived at the event with husband Rodger Berman and baby Sklyer in tow, threw out the ceremonial toss-in. Once the red carpet hoopla had died down, the match got underway against a backdrop of the Lower Manhattan skyline–its new anchor One World Trade Center finally standing tall–and the Statue of Liberty. Black Watch, the team led by Argentine polo player (and long-running Ralph Lauren model) Figueras, beat team Nespresso 9-7 as spectators ate food courtesy of in-demand scenester caterers Fat Radish and Ruschmeyer’s. Proceeds from the event benefited Work to Ride, a program providing disadvantaged urban youth with equestrian activities.
