Fig & Olive Spices Up for Summer with New Menu
Summer officially kicks off in just a few days, but Fig & Olive is ringing in the season early with executive chef Pascal Lorange’s newly launched summer menu.
The popular Melrose Place eatery is now offering fresh dishes exclusive to the West Hollywood location often attracting celebrities and other A-list guests. Chef Lorange’s menu, which is inspired by the lively and colorful produce found at nearby purveyors and farmers markets, includes more than 20 new dishes in the style of Fig & Olive’s southern European influences.
Guests can start with the Pea & Mint Soup made from sweet peas, mint, lemon thyme, onion and a ricotta salata, or a sampling of crostinis. The Crab, Yogurt, Tarragon and Tomato crostini is light and refreshing, while the Manchego, Fig and Marcona crostini offers a sweet endnote.
In keeping with the restaurant’s Mediterranean flavors, Lorange has introduced the Paella Del Mar—a medley of saffron rice, and assorted fresh seafood, vegetables and spices, tossed in Hojiblanca Olive Oil, and the Provence Vegetable Parmesan with caramelized onions, grilled vegetables and spices, gratine with parmesan.
Then, finish off the meal with one of pastry chef Andrew LeStourgeon’s exquisite desserts, including the warm marzipan cake served with a subtle olive oil gelato.
Fig & Olive boasts an exceptional wine and champagne list of more than 30 varietals from the South of France, Italy and Spain, offered by the glass or by the bottle.
Other new promotions happening at the restaurant include an after hours weekend DJ series with celebrity DJ Julien Nolan, who will spin his signature down-tempo tunes of St. Tropez from Friday to Sunday nights.
Fig & Olive has also launched a special three-course prix-fixe weekend brunch for $28 per person, just in time for Father’s Day on Sunday. Each guest will enjoy a complimentary brunch cocktail, as well as coffee or tea with housemade biscotti. Such menu highlights include: Truffle Mushroom Fontina Scrambled Eggs, French Omelet, Fig & Olive Painted Hills Farm Burger, and Mediterranean Mac & Cheese.
