David Beckham Doesn’t Make England National Football Team

News | June 28, 2012

British soccer stud David Beckham will not be playing for his country in the 2012 London Olympic Games. Beckham had his first debut on the England National Football Team during the 1996 World Cup and has continued to play for Britain in numerous Euro Cups and World Cups. This year will be the first time since 1960 that England will be competing in Olympic soccer.

The superstar athlete was confident after making the 35-man shortlist that he was going to be chosen for the final cut. Each Olympic team may only have three players over the age of 23 and team manager Stuart Pearce did not select 37-year-old Beckham to fill one of these spots. Unfortunately for Beckham, many speculate that the Londoner will not have the opportunity to represent England in any future national competitions.

Although Beckham is heartbroken, he remains committed to his country and assures his former team that he will be rooting them on.
