Culver City’s Royal/T will be closing its doors at the end of August. Before the beloved art space and Japanese-inspired eatery officially closes though, there will be an hour-long walkthrough, talk with curators and artists and a farewell party on June 30.
The popular space has been a staple in Los Angeles for the past five years, featuring fashion shows, lectures, pop-ups, tasty sweets, film screenings and vintage clothing swaps. Before permanently closing its doors at the end of August, Royal/T will be hosting an evening on June 30 featuring a tour of the space and a three-hour party with dessert, music and midnight toast. According to a release by Royal/T, the event is to “than supporters and revisit past curators, artists and performers.”
Starting at 8 p.m., the June 30 “Greatest Hits Party” will be attended by Whitney Biennial Co-Curator Jay Sanders, Andy Warhol Museum Director Eric Shiner, performer Prince Poppycock and artist Dave Muller.
Royal/T opened in October 2008 and the company has contributed a variety of colorful events to the Los Angeles cultural scene.
Though the art space/eatery will be shutting its doors in Culver City, the brand does plan on hosting future pop-up venues. Royal/T has announced that fans should stay tuned for more information on “upcoming roaming special events, exhibits, shows, brand partnerships and pop-ups in Los Angeles and around the world.”
Royal/T is located at 8910 Washington Blvd in Culver City, California
