Lola Astanova To Perform At Lincoln Center As Byron Janis Is Honorned With Lifetime Achievement Award

On May 30th, Lincoln Center will host a very special evening with the Yamaha Music and Wellness Institute, honoring Legendary virtuosic pianist, Byron Janis with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

The ceremony will be hosted by TV journalist and anchor, Deborah Norville and feature special performances and appearances including classical pianist virtuoso Lola Astanova. Lola is the only classical pianist Maestro Janis has asked to perform during the program and while there is 64 years between their debuts at Carnegie Hall, Lola will be working closely with Janis, under his mentorship, as she continues to develop her career to become a legendary virtuoso herself.

“I am thrilled to perform at such an incredible event to honor an icon I consider an inspiration to me and so many current and future pianists,” said Astanova about her upcoming performance.

The night will also include an Official Proclamation from the honorable, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg

The Lifetime Achievement Award, is the first of four awards Byron Janis is scheduled to receive this year.
