2.  What are the current trends with makeup for this year’s B&W Ball?

Patricia Vargas, Laura Mercier Beauty Advisor’s advice:  Black and white gowns are naturally an open canvas in creating an elegant look that pops.  Customers are looking to create glamorous eyes with dramatic eye liner and bold red lips.  As Laura Mercier would say, never underestimate the power of dramatic lips.

3.  What type of gowns should women be looking for?

Right now we are seeing timeless gowns that combine elegant lines with exquisite detail.  This year on the rack you will see classic gowns that have been taken up a notch; from the one shoulder, to embellished backless cutouts, asymmetric lines and detailed sequins gowns.

4.  What jewelry trends are you seeing this summer that will fit into the B&W Ball?

Color is a big trend right now and even though we stick with the traditional black and white gown for the ball you can pair it with ruby or sapphire jewelry, giving your look an elegant touch.

5.  With the economy still in recovery, what can people on a budget do to “glam it up” and look their best?

Look through your closet before you head out dress shopping and take inventory of all possible shoe, jewelry, clutch and accessories items you already own.  While dress shopping you may realize that you can re-wear an accessory item from the year before.   Don’t compromise your look to wear a pair of shoes you already own, but shop for a dress that compliments the items already in your closet.
