Haute Event: Taboo, Mark Foster and Roger Sanchez Perform at the Palms
The Palms kicked off Memorial Day weekend with an all-star line-up of performances from Taboo of Black Eyed Peas, Mark Foster of Foster the People and DJ Roger Sanchez on Friday.
Taboo of Taboo of Black Eyed Peas had an explosive performance at Rain Nightclub. Arriving in all black but accenting it with red, Taboo showed off his red studded belt, glasses, watch and even red shoe laces. The Taboo Experience started with Taboo in line with five break dancers dancing and singing to “Pump It” by Black Eyed Peas. The explosive performance continued when Taboo took to the turntables. On the microphone he yelled, “Las Vegas, let me hear you scream,” and simultaneously the famed three-foot fireballs Rain is known for, shot from the ceiling making the crowd go wild.
At Moon Nightclub, Mark Foster of Foster the People arrived in a black fedora, white T-shirt and dark blazer. Fresh of his recent Billboard Music Award win for Top Rock Song, Foster took to the ones and twos and spun remixes of popular songs including Calvin Harris’ “Feel So Close” and Draft Punk’s “Around The World.” Foster’s energetic performance in the sky-high nightclub kept club-goers dancing in Moon’s haze of fog and pulsating lights late into the night. Busta Rhymes, dressed in a tie-dye shirt and jeans with a massive diamond chain, hit the club with six friends and drank Moet Rose champagne and Patron Anejo tequila at their table while enjoying Foster’s show.
Also performing at Palms was Grammy Award-winning producer and DJ Roger Sanchez, who brought his tunes to Ditch Fridays at the Palms Pool & Bungalows. Despite the weather, the pool transformed into an outdoor playground when Sanchez started his set for the hundreds of day-clubbers in attendance.
