Haute Event Preview: Millennial Ball At Lavo To Benefit Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation For Cancer Research
Tonight at Manhattan hot-spot Lavo, Andrew Warren and Louie Torrellas, along with the Junior Committee of Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research will host the inaugural Millennial Ball.
Although the two have hosted several events for the foundation separately, this is the first time the two will be teaming up.
“We both have long standing ties with the foundation but we wanted to bring our two networks together- his with many donors and philanthropists and my network of entertainers and actors,” says Torrellas. “I’m excited to see the room with celebrities, philanthropists, tech entrepreneurs, all coming together.”
Torrellas, an Emmy-winning performer and Founder of New York-based production company, Ambitious Media whose family has been personally affected by cancer, hopes that the event will help raise awareness for the foundation beyond the event itself.
“It isn’t just about this one event. It is a part of a campaign to motivate young people and how they can make a difference in the world,” he says.
Warren, a Syracuse University freshman who has served on the junior committee for five years is no stranger to throwing large scale events. Getting involved with the foundation years ago through family friends, Warren became passionate about spreading the word to the younger generation.
“In the past, many of my events were aimed at kids and young adults, so the Millennial Ball will be a great event to see them growing up with the cause” says Warren.
The ball, sponsored by Voli Vodka and Azunia Tequila will feature performances by DJ CHACHI, Nick Hissom and Natasha Bessez with all proceeds will benefit the Foundation’s research initiatives.
Committee members scheduled to attend include: Peter Brandt II, Ben Arabov, David Arabov, Alexandre Assouline, Elizabeth Hilfiger, Conrad Hilton, Tiffany Trump, Devorah Rose, Alex Fekkai. Additional guests include actor Justin Combs, Eric West, New England Patriot Bret Lockett, Shenae Grimes and more.
The event begins at 8:45pm and tickets can be purchased through the Foundation’s website, Eventbrite or by calling the Foundation office (646) 861-2033.
