Haute Event: Dr. Dog Plays a Set at the BLVD Social Club

News | May 18, 2012

On Thursday, Dr. Dog kicked off BLVD Social Club — Thursdays Live at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas with a set. The group hooked the audience by playing hits such as “Heart It Races,” “Lonesome,” “That Old Black Hole” and “Warrior Man.” Scattered across the pool, the crowd stayed energetic throughout the performance.

Inspired by retro influences, Dr. Dog is comprised of bassist Toby Leaman, guitarist Scott McMicken, guitarist Frank McElroy, drummer Eric Slick, multi-instrumentalist Demitri Manos and keyboardist Zach Miller. The Philadelphia-based group made a career-turning move when one of their CDs was given to Grammy-nominated rockers My Morning Jacket. Continuing to make a presence throughout the indie scene and earning headlining acts, Dr. Dog released their most recent album, Be the Void, in February of this year.
Next up at BLVD Social Club — Thursdays Live is The Henry Clay People on Thursday, May 24, and K. Flay on Thursday, May 31.
