Four London Hotels to Open in time for Olympic Games

The anticipation is building for the 2012 Summer Olympics that will be held in London. Not only are all eyes on the athletes and their teams, but also on the city that will host the major event, London. For the thousands of visitors that plan on heading to the capital city, there are four new hotels that are expected to open just in time for the Olympics.

The Bulgari Hotel

Expected to open on June 1, the Bulgari Hotel is located in the high-end neighborhood of Knightsbridge. The 85-room boutique luxury hotel features a contemporary design, a two-floor spa, a 25-meter swimming pool and a private movie theater with more than 500 films to select from. In addition, the hotel will use sustainable geothermal energy throughout in order to stay eco-friendly and environmentally conscious.

ME by Melia London

Located on the corner of the Strand and Aldwych, the ME by Melia London hotel will open on July 15 and feature 157 rooms. Designed by Foster + Partners, the hotel’s bespoke services will include “aura managers” who will “gauge guests’ moods and provide the appropriate assistance or advice.” There is also a rooftop bar with 180-degree city views.

Ampersand

This Victorian building located near the South Kensington metro station received a luxury renovation to incorporate accents of modern flair and unique design. With 110 rooms, Ampersand also features a bakery, gym, underground cocktail bar and restaurant. Located at 10 Harrington Road, Ampersand is expected to open by mid-July.

Hilton London Wembley

Located 20 minutes from downtown, this new hotel is primly located directly across the way from the iconic stadium that will host the Olympics. Expected to open just in time for the 2012 Summer Paralympic Games, which happen after the Olympics, the 361-room Hilton London Wembley is already accepting late-summer bookings. The property is expected to open on August 13 and features a pool, sauna, business center, fitness center and more.
