Peninsula Beverly Hills: It’s all in the Details
Details, details, details…It’s all in the details.
Peninsula hotel Beverly Hills represents an unparalleled level of excellence; it not only delivers, it exceeds other hotels with traditional, understated elegance in the spirit of California.
A charming property, the Peninsula’s beautiful gardens and roof top terrace allow you to feel as though you are at someone’s cozy chateau. From the time of arrival, they roll out the red carpet. Everything from our bag delivery, room and spa, to even the glass of wine awaiting our arrival was part of the impeccable package.
The well-trained staff executes requests so quietly and subtly that you wonder if they have even heard you. Most of the staff, including the drivers, have been there for more than 10 years and some as long as 22. They know each guest by name, and many of the guests return year after year. I was watching one of the waiters measuring a little girl to see how much taller she was this visit from the last.
What blew me away was all of the subtle details. For example, my initials were monogrammed onto my sleeping pillow. At first I thought it was a coincidence, and that perhaps there was a brand of linens similar to mine. They allow you to take the linens home or store it for your next visit. Also, the spa locker and hotel safe have velvet jewelry boxes to store your jewelry.
The food is divine and coincides with the healthy way of life practiced in California. They accommodate most any request. From custom juices to tofu stir-fry, no order is too tall for Peninsula. This hotel is simply lovely.
Nestled in the neighborhood of Beverly Hills, you have the feel of a quiet community with shops and dinning near by. The bungalows are adorable, and equipped with fireplaces and balconies. They also have private entrances so that you don’t have to enter through the lobby.
There is high tea everyday, and the hotel is adorned with beautiful fabrics, comfortable furniture and chandlers everywhere. Peninsula evokes European beauty without the attitude. Although it is a chain hotel, it certainly feels boutique. You can unwind, have business meetings or bring the family; this is your place. It is worth every penny!
There are many nice hotels around the world, but few are able to create this perfect atmosphere. It takes a lot of behind the scenes work to create beauty, service and just the right vibe. It spoke volumes when I was waiting at the valet, and managers and staff knew all of the guests who were coming and going. When I had a pedicure, the Aesthetician said she had worked at three other high-end hotels, and that Peninsula was by far her favorite. Well, now it’s mine! It really is like a family at Peninsula, and they make you feel like you are part of it!
