Haute Event: Florence + The Machine Rocks Out at the Boulevard Pool

News | April 22, 2012

On Saturday night, Florence + The Machine kept the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas’ summer concert series going with a sold-out show at the resort’s Boulevard Pool. The English-born Florence Welch appeared with a seven-piece band including Chris Hayden (drums), Isabella Summers (keyboards), Rob Ackroyd (guitar), Mark Saunders (bass) and Tom Monger (harp).

Breaking onto the international music scene in 2009 with their debut album, Lungs, Florence + The Machine has become increasingly popular with their sophomore effort, Ceremonials, released last fall. The Grammy-nominated group kicked off the show with a crowd-pleasing performance of “Shake it Out” and “Never Let Me Go.” Fans clung onto every note as the indie pop band maneuvered through the set which included favorites such as “Dog Days Are Over,” “You’ve Got The Love” and “Cosmic Love.”

Next up at the summer concert series at the Boulevard Pool is Cage the Elephant on Thursday, April 26, and Snow Patrol on Saturday, May 12.
