Today the Guggenheim Museum and Foundation and UBS Wealth Management revealed a partnership to curate contemporary art and monitor creative activity across the global spectrum, over the next five year. Richard Armstrong, director of the museum and foundation, and Jürg Zeltner, CEO of UBS Wealth Management issued a joint announcement saying the project–titled UBS MAP Global Art Initiative–will identify and support a network of art, artists and curators from South and Southeast Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East and North Africa. The program will encompass curatorial residencies, acquisitions for the Guggenheim’s collection, international touring exhibitions, and global opportunities for educational activities.
