The Scene: SMUIN Gala
Smuin Ballet—the unique company that takes audience members “beyond ballet”— hosted its 2012 Gala Jan. 28. The event was presented by Honorary Chairs Jennifer and Mike Krukow, Gala Co-Chairs Athena and John Konstin and Chris and Ed Schweitzer.
Other dancers, company supporters and San Francisco residents turned out for the event. Notable attendees included Senator Mark Leno, Marilyn and Michael Cabak, Lucy Hume Koukopoulos, Laura King Pfaff and Bill and Susan Oberndorf.
The gala—which took place at The Four Seasons Hotel—began with a cocktail reception and silent auction. A dinner followed the reception, during which Smuin Ballet, celebrating 18 years of world-class ballet, treated guests to a special performance.
