The Sultan of Brunei has one of the world’s most impressive luxury car collections that includes specially created Ferraris, Aston Martins and Bentleys.

Though traditional factory-made models of luxury cars surely satisfy even the most discerning customer, the Sultan of Brunei appears to enjoy taking luxury models one step further. He had Aston Martin convert some 1990’s Vantage Virages to Lagonda-badged sedans and wagons and some were even transformed to Vantage technical specification. Completed in-house by Aston Martin Works, the Aston Martin Special Series 1 was designed to resemble the classic DB4 Zagato with a V8 Vantage platform and twin-supercharged V8 power. The Special Series 2 is also believed to be based on the V8 Vantage. When the Sultan of Brunei had the AM3 created, it turned out to be the most non-traditional design of all of his custom Aston Martins. Bodied by Pininifarina in Italy, the cars lights were given a smoked treatment to blend in with the plastic front fascia and even to this day the car looks extremely modern.

Prior to the release of the Porsche Cayenne or Cadillac Escalade, the Sultan of Brunei commissioned Bentley to construct numerous SUVs with a unique Bentley chassis and Range Rover 4WD systems. In addition, he had Bentley build a convertible version of the Java concept car that Bentley based on a BMW 5-series.

The Sultan’s BMW 850SCi has been tuned by Alpina and called the B12. It features a V12 engine with approximately 350 HP. He also owns a yellow McLaren, a special S-class Touring model with a 7.3 liter V12, a yellow Mercedes Sprinter with a red interior, a Jaguar XJ220 re-styled by Pininfarina and a basic stretched Rolls-Royce.
