Chanel Takes Over Japan During Tokyo Fashion Week
Chanel celebrated its ties with Japan during Tokyo Fashion Week with a string of events—and Karl Lagerfeld’s first trip to Japan in eight years.
The events began with a party to celebrate the launch of Lagerfeld’s new photography book and its exhibition, “The Little Black Jacket.” The exhibition—held at an art gallery in Aoyama—will run through April 15 and then travel to eight other countries. Lagerfeld was joined by Carine Roitfeld—who edited the book, which consists of photos of celebrities wearing some of the most iconic clothing—Sarah Jessica Parker, Vanessa Paradis and Alice Dellal.
After the Chanel runway show, the fashion house debuted a three-week temporary boutique in the Omotesando area, followed by an after-party to celebrate the opening.
