Celebrate Christian Louboutin’s 20th Year Anniversary at Neiman Marcus SF

Neiman Marcus SF hosts a very special trunk show complete with instant gratification on March 15th through 18th.  Unlike other trunk shows where items are ordered and Loubou-fans er…clients await with baited breath, Neiman Marcus will have a large selection of the incredible capsule collection available on hand for purchase.

In celebration of 20 years, which in France signifies a generation, Louboutin has created 20 stunning shoes (one for each year) and several bags for a capsule collection and all the while launching a new book and directing Feu, a cabaret show in Pairs Crazy Horse.   From the vertiginous Lady Gres which launched a new era of 160 mm heels to the comfortable pigaLove flats, each of the shoes represents a part of Louboutin history.

One of the signature shoes in the capsule collection is the Pensee, the shoe that started all the red soled hysteria.  The Pensee was created in 1993, when Louboutin was dissatisfied with the contrast between the vibrant upper and the plain black sole.  In a moment of inspiration, the designer grabbed an assistant’s pot of red nail varnish (alledgely color Pantone 18, Chinese Red) and began painting.   Since then, he keeps everyone looking back for those glimpses of blood rushing red as a strong sexy woman walks past.
