The SMUIN Gala: Beyond Ballet

The Smuin Ballet hosted its annual fundraising gala on Saturday, January 28 at the beautiful Four Seasons Hotel in San Francisco.
Beyond Ballet was the theme of this year’s breathtaking gala. Guests enjoyed a cocktail reception with a silent auction, dinner and most exciting live auction, where guests had the opportunity to bid on Smuin’s infamous Cake Auction featuring stunning designs and delectable cakes donated to the Company.
True to this year’s theme, the Smuin Ballet treated guests to exquisite live performances, which ranged from sweet classics to modern to steamy avant garde.
“Our goal is to embrace simplicity of scale, superior standards of execution, and accessibility to diverse groups,” said Cynthia Wuthman, development and communications director at Smuin Ballet. Proceeds from the evening benefitted the SMUIN Company for its upcoming season.
