New York Fashion Week: Backstage Beauty At Emerson Runway Show

Fashion, News | February 17, 2012

Illamasqua’s Lead US Makeup Artist Andrea Helgadottir created a beautiful look for the Fall 2012 Emerson show inspired by the sophistication from a classic pin-up girl mixed with dark, goth colors.

Andrea began the look by giving each model an even skin tone. The eyes were intentionally very clean and minimalistic with Illamasqua’s Precision Ink in Abyss as a liner and sweep of lilac purple (Powder Eyeshadow in CanCan) on the lids and inner corner of the eye. Andrea went back in with Powder Eyeshadow in Forgiveness to create a contour in the crease of the eyelid.

The focus of the look was the lips and Andrea used the dark, blue, violet Lipstick in Kontrol as a focal point for the face. She finished off the look with beautiful shimmer blush on the checks (Simmer Blusher in Ambition).

Nails were also Illamasqua colors. The base coat was Nail Varnish in Velocity with Nail Varnish in DWS in a half moon on the top of the nail.

The hair look was created by Zahir Ziani, the National Creative Director and Master Stylist for Red Door Spas. Ziani said he was going for Veronia Lake inspired retro waves.
