Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week: J. Mendel F/W 2012 Runway Show Attended by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen

It was apparent from the moment attendees of the J. Mendel F/W 2012 show began to parade into the Theater at Lincoln Center that the event would be glamorous. Celebrity twins, design duo and fashion-icons-in-the-making Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen conspicuously took their front row seats just minutes before the show began with an army of security at every angle. One photographer was even seen escorted out of the show for taking photos of the twins.

But once the show commenced, all eyes were on the flawless collection. There were quite a few “oohs” and “aahs” in the crowd, as onlookers were simply dazzled by the array of texture and the intricate attention to detail in each piece. The show began with elegant head-to-toe looks in winter white; equipped with pleating, fur knits and zipper detailing. The show then progressed from white to black, and finally to dark shades of red and cognac. Tweed dresses, wool separates, crocodile sleeves and pointed gold booties are some of the elements that completed the polished collection.
