Marilyn Monroe Tribute Exhibition at Getty Images Gallery

News | February 23, 2012

To mark the 50th anniversary of Marilyn Monroe’s tragic death, Getty Images Gallery will host an exhibition opening March 9. The showcase will feature original dresses and costumes, as well as never before seen photos.

David Gainsborough, a private Monroe memorabilia collector, loaned the gallery her dresses, which people can see in London for the first time. Some of the highlighted photographs are of the star relaxing in her home in Palm Springs and of her practicing her lines. The gallery will also present an original film during the exhibition, showing part of Monroe’s troubled life.
