Haute Charity: New Yorkers To Strip Down For Valentine’s Day Run
Ever wonder what it would feel like to run through the streets of New York City in your underwear? On February 11th, nearly 200 lucky New Yorkers will get that chance to take it all off for a good cause during Manhattan’s first annual Cupid’s Undie Run.
Based on the widely popular Washington D.C. charity event, New Yorkers will brave frigid temperatures in their Valentine’s Day skivvies and take to the streets to raise money and awareness for the Children’s Tumor Foundation – the world’s largest nonprofit organization dedicated to ending Neurofibromatosis (NF), a genetic disorder that causes painful and debilitating tumors to grow on nerves throughout the body.
The approximate one mile run will take place at Hudson River Park with pre-and post-run festivities at The Tippler, in the basement of The Chelsea Market on 15th street.
Cupid’s Undie Run NYC is presented by the~grace~list, a multifaceted social networking community that connects accomplished individuals through engaging events like wine tastings, yachting excursions, private flying lessons, and now Cupid’s Undie Run in New York.
Cupid’s Undie Run first debuted in Washington D.C. in 2010 and has since expanded to New York in addition to runs in Seattle, Atlanta, Cincinnati and Denver.
“We jumped from $10,000 in our first year to over $75,000 our second year,” said Cupid’s Co-Founder Chad Leathers. “This year we hope to contribute more than $500,000 to the Foundation. With the passion of Cupid’s runners, and our national expansion I believe that is very possible.”
Registration for the NYC event is open but space is limited.
