The actress’ famous painting by Van Gogh titled “Vue de l’asile de la Chapelle de Remy,” that once hung in her Bel Air home was recently auctioned off at a Christie’s auction in London. According to reports, the painting sold for nearly $16 million by an anonymous bidder via phone.

Along with two other paintings that Taylor owned, a landscape by Claude Pissarro and a self-portrait by Edgar Degas. The three paintings in total were about $22 million. But these were not the first pieces of artwork from Taylor. Back in January, auction sales were $2.1 million for a painting by Frans Hals. While the starlet’s art collection is being sold, it is a worthy cause, with the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation receiving some of the proceeds.
