UK-based Cunard Line has been associated with the British royal family since 1938 and they are now planning a special celebration uniting all three Elizabeth ships for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

On June 5, 2012, the Queen will celebrate her Diamond Jubilee at a special event of the Three Queens (Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth ship, Queen Victoria ship and Queen Mary 2 ship) in Southampton.

Cunard Line is arranging for all three ships, which are the largest ever built by the company, to arrive and depart together in a special formation at the home port. Advancing toward the port, the three Queens will salute the Queen’s Jubilee, come very close to one another and be lit up by fireworks with special effects.

Peter Shanks, President of Cunard Line, said it is a pleasure to be part of such a historic occasion and he is delighted to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee marking sixty years of reign.

The Queen Elizabeth ship is the newest Cunarder, joining the fleet in October 2010. The ship features ornate rooms with rich décor recalling the heritage of the first Cunarder to bear the same name.

The Queen Victoria ship joined the Cunard fleet in December 2007 and featured luxurious marbles, woods, plush carpets, rich fabrics and soft furnishings.

The Queen Mary 2 offers a 7-day Transatlantic cruise between New York and Southampton. Providing one of the most modern luxury cruise travel experiences, the Queen Mary 2 features 14 spacious decks, extravagant dining rooms, ballrooms, theaters, lounges and a Planetarium.
