Coming Soon To San Francisco’s New Mission Theater: Alamo Drafthouse

News | February 21, 2012

The Alamo Drafthouse is coming to San Francisco and will take over and renovate the New Mission Theater. Tim League confirmed in a blog post that the San Francisco theater will be the first outside of Austin that he and his wife own and operate themselves.

The theater was originally built in 1916 as a 2,000-seat movie palace, and the Drafthouse has a full and complete historic renovation in the works for one of San Francisco’s landmarks.

The Drafthouse is also expanding to Colorado this year, and enthusiasts are hoping that New York and Los Angeles are next on the agenda.
