Broadway Hit “The Book of Mormon” is on a Mission to the Curran Theater

SHN announced Wednesday that the Broadway smash hit, “Book of Mormon” is coming to San Francisco.  Beginning in November, the touring troupe will have a five-week stay at the Curran Theater in downtown San Francisco.

The winner of nine 2011 Tony Awards, “The Book of Mormon” follows two Mormon Missionaries sent to a remote village in Uganda ruled by a tyrannical warlord.  In the midst of famine, AIDS and poverty in this grief stricken village, the two missionaries try to share the Book of Mormon to the locals who, lets just say, have bigger fish to fry.

Created by “South Park” founders Trey Parker and Matt Stone as well as Robert Lopez, the musical has won scores of awards including a Grammy for best musical theater album.

After stops in Denver and Los Angeles, the Broadway touring company will come to San Francisco.  Season tickets, which include “The Book of Mormon” as well as four additional shows, soon to be announced, are available now.  For more information regarding tickets, you can visit the SHN website at http://www.shnsf.com/.
