The Royal Academy of Arts Presents David Hockney
Later this month the Royal Academy of Arts in London will showcase an exhibition of new landscape works by David Hockney RA. The vivid paintings—inspired by the East Yorkshire landscape—will be featured alongside drawings and film.
“David Hockney RA: A Bigger Picture” highlights the artist’s attraction to landscape; it features the changing of seasons and his journey through the landscapes of Yorkshire. The exhibition also explores the use of technology, including Hockney’s use of the Polaroid, the colour photocopier and his iPad and iPhone. Related films—created using 18 different cameras—will be displayed on multiple screens to create a journey through the artist’s eyes.
