SoulCycle Puts a New Spin on LA Starting February 10

Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, Kelly Ripa and Anderson Cooper: they’re all devotees. But up until now, they had to be in on the East Coast to attend SoulCycle.

Starting February 10, the NYC-based, full-body indoor cycling workout kicks off the company’s rapid national expansion with SoulCycle’s first California outpost, SoulCycle West Hollywood. Located in the Sunset Millennium on the Sunset Strip at 8570 Sunset Boulevard, SoulCycle’s prestigious neighbors include Equinox, DryBar, CafeMed, Catherine Malandrino and Calypso.

In the 3,100 square foot studio, 57 riders at a time may attend the 60-minute sessions (a signature mix of fat-burning cardio and resistance training, in a unique environment of candlelight and custom, high-energy playlists). There will also be locker rooms, a boutique and an adjacent parking garage with the option of valet.

From now until the opening, a pop-in space has staff on hand to spread the gospel and get people excited. You can also sample the playlists of the trainers while reading their bios, via ipod-fueled listening stations on the wall.

“It’s your own workout, but you’re really feeding off the energy of the room,” says sunny manager Lisa Larson, her face lit up with pure authenticity – the trademark of every true SoulCycle believer.
