Prince William And Kate Ring In 2012 In A £3,000 Teepee

News | January 2, 2012

While most people expected newlyweds Prince William and Kate to mark their first New Years as a married couple with a lavish celebraton with Prince Charles and Camilla in Scotland, Pippa Middleton had another plan in mind. The famous sister hosted a bash with The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in a tent traditionally used by reindeer herders in Lapland.

The teepee-style ‘kata’ was hired from an upmarket events firm by Kate’s sister Pippa for a party she hosted in her parents’ back garden in Berkshire. Pippa’s chosen kata, which cost about £3,000 was set up on the parents’ Michael and Carole Middleton’s home in the village of Bucklebury. It was described as a ‘canvas palace’ and included a dance floor, lighting and seating for more than 100 people.
