2012 will be a good year for the New York restaurant scene. With a number of haute spots slated to open this year, and anticipation growing for many of them, here’s a look into two of this week’s openings:
- The Bowery Diner: From Motorino owner and chef Mathieu Palombino comes this highly-anticipated haute diner. Don’t let the word “diner” scare you away; this eatery boasts a gourmet menu with items like duck salad with confit gizzards, all made strictly with first-class ingredients like in-house smoked pastrami. 241 Bowery.
- Añejo Tequileria: It’s always fun to try a place from a Top Chef alum. This Mexican installation is the second outpost from the well-loved Angelo Sosa (Social Eatz). With more than two dozen types of tequila expertly pared with gourmet Mexican food this might be one to try. 668 Tenth Ave.
