Louboutin, Bergdorf Goodman, and Parsons Collaborate to Celebrate Louboutin Anniversary

Bergdorf Goodman, Christian Louboutin, and Parsons The New School for Design  collaborated to in celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the famed footwear brand.  The iconic red soled shoes are being honored with a design competition of talented young alumni from Parsons.

Each participant in the contest is creating a look inspired by a shoe from the new Christian Louboutin 20th Anniversary Capsule Collection. The aforementioned collection reflects on the past 20 year by paying homage to the most iconic designs throughout Louboutin’s history. Pieces of the collection will premier at Bergdorf Goodman on January 31, topped off with a very special personal appearance by Christian Louboutin himself.

“I work with many young designers and I believe that it is in the order of natural things for a more mature designer to help a younger one.  Thinking of my journey, I was helped in the beginning by people in a very nice way and this project with Parsons and Bergdorf Goodman is a way to give back and nurture a new generation of talent,” said Christian Louboutin.

The five Parson graduates slated to compete in the showcase were chosen by Christian Louboutin and Linda Fargo, SVP of Fashion Office and Store Presentation, Bergdorf Goodman, from a pool of 20 finalists. The looks will be unveiled at the Christian Louboutin 20th Anniversary event at Bergdorf Goodman, and then will remain on display on the store’s main floor from February 2–8.
