The cancellation of a Lady Gaga concert in Moscow last summer is costing UTV, a Russia media company, $1.8 million.

The company, owner of the music channel Muz-TV, filed a case with a Miami court against the American New Wave Entertainment Company to return the insurance deposit and compensate for losses.

UTV claimed in a statement that  it hired the company to book Lady Gaga to perform at the Muz-TV awards ceremony and that New Wave Entertainment failed to secure Lady Gaga’s performance despite receiving $1.5 million in advance payment and $300,000 for the agency fee.
