Superstar soccer player David Beckham has finally put rumors to rest about his future with the Los Angeles Galaxy. The soccer club has just confirmed the British athlete has re-signed with them.

Though offered numerous contracts from teams around the world, David Beckham has made the decision to remain in Los Angeles with the L.A. Galaxy. Reports indicate that Beckham was offered an incredible amount of contracts including one from Paris Saint-Germain, which offered him a 18-month contract that would pay a hefty $18.7 million. But according to Beckham, who is unquestionably already extremely wealthy, the money wasn’t the issue, saying, “This was an important decision for me. I had many offers from clubs from around the world; however, I’m still passionate about playing in America and winning trophies with the Galaxy. I’ve seen first-hand how popular soccer is now in the States and I’m as committed as ever to growing the game here.”

Beckham, 36, has seemingly settled in quite nicely in Los Angeles, where he and his designer (and former Spice Girl) wife, Victoria Beckham, are raising their three sons and 5-month-old daughter.

“My family and I are incredibly happy and settled in America, and we look forward to spending many more years here,” Beckham said.

With Beckham’s help, the L.A. Galaxy recently won the Major League Soccer Championship, so it’s no surprise that general manager and head coach Bruce Arenas is ecstatic about the news.

“I’m thrilled that David has chosen to re-join the Galaxy, especially as he had numerous options where he could continue his career,” said Arenas. “I felt that he was one of the best players in all of MLS last season and we could not have achieved the success that we did without him. We look forward to replicate that success this season with David once again in a Galaxy uniform.”

Beckham, who is a mid-fielder for the team, has signed a two-year contract. He has already been with the team for five years and has twice been named to the MLS All-Star Team and finished the 2011 season with a career-best 15 assists, earning him a coveted spot on the MLS Best XI. Beckham has played 74 career regular seasons games with the L.A. Galaxy.
