Haute Toys: Luxury Personal Submarine for $290,000
Tired of plane rides or cruises? The newest exotic travelling option for the adventurous go getter is the personal submarine. Exploring the underwater world was once a thing of science fiction, a la Jules Vernes’ “Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea,” but now that world can be seen in luxury.
The latest such submarine is the Aquaventure Watercrafts’ Seabird LuxurySport LE Submarine, which features sonar, an intercom system, an underwater lighting system and a battery life of ten hours. Starting at $290,000, the personal submarine can be customized with add-ons such as leather seating, surround sound audio and temperature control. The company also includes other personal submarines such as the Seabird 2 and tour models that come at a lesser price point.
