Haute Event Preview: Young Collectors Night at the Winter Antiques Show
On Thursday, January 26th, East Side House Settlement (www.eastsidehouse.org) will host the annual Young Collectors Night at the Winter Antiques Show at the Park Avenue Armory. This high-energy night attracts over 650 new collectors, young philanthropists, interior designers, and art and antiques enthusiasts. Sponsored by New York magazine, Benjamin Moore, and Elie Tahari, the evening offers guests a private viewing of one of the world’s most prestigious antiques shows renowned for its unparalleled showcase of American, English, European, and Asian fine and decorative arts dating from antiquity through the 1960s. Proceeds from the event will benefit East Side House Settlement, a leading social services agency that serves young people and families in the South Bronx and surrounding communities
The evening is co-chaired by Courtney Booth, Emily Israel Pluhar, and Stephanie Clark. The Vice Chairs are Melissa D. Berkelhammer, Roric Tobin & Justin Concannon, Cristin & Britt deVeer, Clay Floren, Ashley & Charlie Fox, Dawne Marie Grannum, Kate Horvitz, Taylor S. Hurt, Claire & David Maxwell, Elizabeth Meigher, Anika Yael Natori, Elise O’Connell, Allyson and Chris Pachios, Marlies Verhoeven Reijtenbagh & Jacco Reijtenbagh, Marie Rentschler, Georgina Schaeffer, Lacary Sharpe, and Alexandra Buckley Voris.
Young Collectors Night will once again host the outstanding Interior Design Committee, led by Chairwoman Wendy Goodman, Design Editor of New York magazine. This prestigious group of 77 designers includes some of the country’s most illustrious interior designers, including Nate Berkus, Thom Filicia, Jonathan Adler, Celerie Kemble, Eric Cohler, Jamie Drake, Alex Papachristidis, Miles Redd, and many more.
Young Collectors Night will include cocktails and hors d’oeuvres and an opportunity for guests to meet the Interior Design Committee. Proceeds will support East Side House Settlement’s highly successful college preparation programs, which are crucial in promoting education and employment for the residents of the South Bronx and surrounding communities.
