Last week couture Parisian fashion house Balmain Paris opened its first Hong Kong store in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui.
Previously selling it’s high-end luxury items through multi-brand stores around Hong Kong, Balmain Paris has finally opened the doors to their very own boutique in the Asian city. Alain Hivelin, Chairman of the Balmain Group, said, “Over the last six years, Balmain’s creations have been enthusiastically received by Hong Kong customers through our vendors Joyce, Swank and Lane Crawford. Due to the importance of Hong Kong in luxury distribution, I am delighted and very excited to extend out presence in this key market through the opening of our first Hong Kong Balmain mono-brand store.”
The store is located in the center of a tourist area called Tsim Sha Tsui in Harbour City and Hong Kong’s relationship with Mainland China was a key deciding point for Balmain Paris to set up shop. Hivelin added, “Hong Kong’s retail sector has been buoyant on the rising arrival of high-spending tourists from around the world, which creates opportunities for established brand names like Balmain Paris to come and build their presence in the region through Hong Kong.”
Pierre Balmain first founded the historic couture fashion house in 1945 and it has since been overseen by a number of designers making it one of the world’s most influential fashion brands. Celebrating Parisian chic with glamour, Balmain Paris is present in all major markets and carried in many prestigious department stores around the world.
