One of Russia’s most prominent directors and creator of How I Spent My Summer, Aleksey Popogrebsky, will help judge the talent entered at the Sundance Film Festival from Jan. 19 to 29.

The 39-year-old psychology graduate made his name by mastering the art of psychological dramas. Her sophomore film, How I Spent My Summer, picked up the award for Best Film at the 54th BFI London Film Festival and two Silver Bears at the Berlinale in 2010.

Each year, Sundance selects 200 films to screen from more than 9,000 submissions. More than 50,000 people attend the festival in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden, and Sundance, Utah.
